Nico van der Merwe (Outfitter & PH)
Your Outfitter and Professional Hunter, Nico, during his primary school years grew up in the unfenced Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, adjacent to Kruger National Park. During high school he, along with his family, moved to their family cattle/game farm in North West Province neighbouring the Botswana border.
It is during these years when Nico’s Dad was a Warden at Timbavati Nature Reserve, where Nico’s fundamental training and passion for conservation and hunting began. Nico started hunting with his Dad from the young age of 9, he assisted in management culling operations and at a later stage moved on to big game.
He gained a great deal of experience over the years with his Father’s ethical guidance and knowledge as a professional big game hunter. Nico, also, has a passion for bowhunting and years of bowhunting experience which, will contribute to assisting clients with making difficult shots, in tight situations, count.
Michelle van der Merwe (Host)
Michelle oversees marketing, accommodation as well as lodge management. She has been married to Nico van der Merwe for the past 10 years. After Michelle graduated from high school, she studied marketing and accounting, thereafter, once she completed her studies, she was appointed as a sales representative of a family business for 10 years.
It was during her time working for the family business that she learned client professionalism and management skills. She has always loved the bushveld and wildlife, contributing to her passion for the hunting industry.
She will gladly assist clients with any inquiries, bookings and logistics involved in making our client’s hunting trip at Zingela Limpopo Safaris unforgettable.
Josef Ramadi (Tracker & Skinner)
Josef grew up with Nico on their family farm in North West and under Nico’s father’s guidance, he was taught and apprenticed the finer skills of tracking and skinning.
Josef has a vast knowledge of the indigenousness fauna and flora which contribute to an unforgettable hunting experience. Josef has years of technical experience; with the reserve located in a remote part of Southern Africa, to have a technician on hand is as valuable as having a good professional hunter.
Joel Maphago (Tracker & Skinner)
Joel grew up in the Limpopo province, adjacent to Zingela Limpopo Safaris. He has been working for Zingela Limpopo Safaris for over 10 years and knows the 60,000 acres like the back of his hand.
